Sewage Cleanup

8/6/2018 (Permalink)

Most people flinch at the smell, sound, and even mention of sewage. It's GROSS. It's disturbing. Most people don't know we can CLEAN IT UP!

The difference between plumbers and sewage cleanup: more than a plunger

Obviously, you need more than a plunger to take care of a sewage mess. However, a lot of homeowners as well as business owners will call plumbers because plumbers deal with the health status of the building's pipes. They make sure water flows well through the pipes of the home/business, and work on some appliances. But if a sewage leak or backup happens into your house/business, a plumber won't know whether the area is properly sanitized if he does clean it up. He also won't know whether it has gone into other areas of the structure that are unseen. Plumbers are great at what they do, but they don't have the proper certifications to deal with  sewage damage. We are available 24/7 AND have certifications, give us a call today!

Windsor Commercial Flood Cleanup

Water damage and flooding make for a quick call to SERVPRO, 537-6635

A Windsor office called us first thing last Saturday morning about a flood several inches of water tall. SERVPRO came in and extracted all the water, and made sure to dry out the affected rooms. When the owners called for our services, they asked for some advice on what to do until SERVPRO arrives to start the cleanup.

Here are some tips you can use if you face a water cleanup situation:

  1. Place aluminum foil or wood blocks between furniture legs and wet carpeting.
  2. Turn off circuit breakers for wet parts of the building, when access to the power distribution panel is safe from electrical shock.
  3. Shut off the source of water if possible or contact a qualified party to stop the water source.
  4. Remove as much excess water as possible by mopping and blotting.
  5. Be sure to not use any electrical appliances.
  6. Pick up books, newspapers, magazines or other colored items on wet carpets or floors. This can cause staining.
  7. Do not enter affected areas if electrical outlets, switches, circuit breakers or electrical equipment are exposed to water. Always avoid electrical shock hazards.

707-537-6635 will reach us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Our latest biohazard remediation project

Commercial Our latest biohazard remediation project It only took us a few hours to make this location as good as new, and even better.

We were recently contacted regarding biohazard cleanup needed at Epicenter in Santa Rosa, the newest sports and entertainment location for Sonoma County. We would hate to see a location like this one get shut down because of a little BIOHAZARD! We went in and took care of the work as quickly as possible.

Flood waters can carry pathogens and diseases, since we don't know the exact source of the water or from where it flowed. When we received a call at 11PM for the fitness area at Epicenter, we responded right away to extract and clean/disinfect the entire area that was affected.

Before you freak out about a water loss, think about your options. Call your insurance company and ask for their advice. We work with most insurance companies, and are sure they have referred at least one of their customers to their local SERVPRO. SERVPRO of Sonoma County NE is a company right in your neighborhood you can trust!

Commercial cleanup due to water damage in Santa Rosa

12/7/2017 (Permalink)

We've had a lot of water losses and Santa Rosa commercial cleaning needs recently. This is due partly to faulty roofing. A lot of ceilings are collapsing due to the weight of water, lack of drainage, or poorly placed shingles.

Preventing water damage in commercial buildings

Having sudden damage, especially during business hours, can be very taxing. You may not lose your customers, but you could lose business for at least a couple weeks (or even months) if you don't get a handle on the loss. You wouldn't want any customer injuries while repairs are being made! Some businesses opt for us to work during non-business hours, or on the weekend depending on the type of business. We've had offices all of a sudden flood, or ceilings fall due to water damage.

Is there a commercial job we can't handle?

Historically, no. We've had a few major buildings/properties in Sonoma County experience natural and man made floods. We have been on site within a few hours, with our crew ready to go. We also contacted other SERVPRO franchises to assist. That's the benefit of working with SERVPRO; you have access to dozens of workers on short notice if necessary!

We had a huge water loss happen in the heart and center of Mendocino County. The Ukiah Social Services office flooded over a weekend, and wasn't discovered until a few days later. We got on the ball right away after getting a call at 11PM on a Sunday night. Our crew worked until the early morning hours, and then came back to work every single day from 7 AM to 5 PM for two straight weeks until the entire building was dried!

Ukiah Daily Journal writeup

We were given a nice snapshot in our local paper about our hard work, and we feel incredibly appreciated. Our technicians really get together and work as a team to get things done right-demolition, drying, containment, and communication-the first time!

Smoke cleanup at Piner High School

10/31/2017 (Permalink)

Commercial Smoke cleanup at Piner High School Piner High School was massively affected by the surrounding fires; thankfully, the structure is sound.

We did some work after the results of the Tubbs Fire. Many buildings, mostly commercial, were affected. We called on all three of our franchises (Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma NE) to work together so the students could start school on time.

We also worked with insurance adjusters, water and smoke damaged homes, and training new temporary employees. This summer kept us busy with mostly water and fire damage-the score was even, but we never like to see entire communities up in flames. The Piner High School was very happy to have us on board. School was back in session within about a week, and families can get back to their regular routines. We have special techniques to handle commercial smoke damage cleanup on a large scale.

We care deeply about our communities, and want them to thrive. We are Sonoma County STRONG!
